Sean and Patty Derrig recognized as FTCI Sportspersons of the year 2008

Sean and Patty Derrig were recognized as the 2008 FTCI Sportspersons of the Year.  Sean and Patty were responsible for starting the Junior Handler Field Trial on their farm.  Junior handlers from all over have come and enjoyed participating and learning about the sport of field trialing.  The Derrig’s provide horses or four wheelers and adult helpers to assist the young people in their handling endeavors and accommodations are made for young people that have special needs.   Sean has long been an advocate of promoting the sport to young people.  He believes this is necessary if we are to ensure the future of the sport in the coming years.  Sean has given of his time to serve as a director of FTCI in the past.  His devotion to promoting excellence in the sport and providing help to others was noted by Terry Trzcinski.

ERIN’S STONEY RIVER WINS REGION 6 AMATEUR ALL-AGE CHAMPIONSHIP

Stoney River wins Region 6 Amateur All-Age Championship at Black Prairie Wildlife area  Crawford, MS. Dec 12th 2008

Ty won over a field of 36 competitors on the strength of a strong race and three finds on quail. This is a significant win as Ty is not yet of Derby age and the first champion produced by Erin’s Bad River.

ERIN’S BAD RIVER WINS REGION 5 AMATEUR ALL-AGE CHAMPIONSHIP

Bad River wins the Region 5 Amateur All-Age Championship at the Outland Ranch November 10, 2008. This makes three in a row in a three week period at just three years of age.

ERIN’S BAD RIVER WINS REND LAKE OPEN

Bad River wins the Rend Lake Open at Jim Fornear’s Outland Ranch November 1st 2008 over a field of 28 competitors. This win re-qualifies him for the 2009 nationals at Grand Junction

Bad River takes top honors at the National Amateur Pheasant Championship at Kildeer Plains Oct 20Th 2008 over a field of 42 competitors.

Erin’s Tin Soldier takes the R-U spot having won the title in 2006 and 2007.

TIN SOLDIER WINS THE INTERNATIONAL PHEASANT CHAMPIONSHIP AT KILDEER PLAINS, OHIO ON OCTOBER 10, 2008.  THIS IS THE NINTH CHAMPIONSHIP WIN FOR PETE WHO IS JUST FOUR YEARS OLD, AND HIS FIRST QUALIFYING WIN TOWARDS THE NATIONAL.

ERIN’S BLACK FURY WINS SEVENTY-FIFTH PHEASANT FUTURITY

Black Fury won the Seventy-Fifth American Field Pheasant Futurity Oct 7, 2008 at Killdeer Plains, Ohio.  Spec is by Erin’s Tin Soldier x Erin’s Southern Jewel.

Erin’s Special Force took Third, he is by Erin’s Tin Soldier x Hard Driving Bev. This is the third year in a row dogs bred, raised and trained by Erin Kennel’s have taken top honors at the Pheasant Futurity.

Erin’s Mayo Ranger wins Region 19 All Age Championship

Mayo Ranger a full brother to Tin Soldier wins his first championship in Solon Springs, WI with a strong forward race and one find on sharptail.

Jake is owned by Allen Linder of Livingston, TN.

Erin’s Tin Soldier wins Region 4 All Age Championship in Berea, KY over a field of 38 competitors.† This is a significant win for Pete as it comes just five weeks after he had major surgery to remove a weed seed.† We’d like to thank Dr. Sifferman and all the staff at Bradford Park Veterinary Hospital in Missouri for their wonderful care.
